Far too often do I find myself apologising for being absent on this particular platform, therefore I am going to skip the spill and get to the point.
This summer has been quite the whirlwind, a constant rollercoaster of events happening and what a better place to start then going to Denmark for a summer get a way for a couple weeks. Luckily the language wasn't a barrier there, as the citizens of Denmark are more than equipped with their grasp of English- far better than mine of Danish which is absolutely none. Fitting enough I thought to name this post after a Danish singers' lyrics, one my friend introduced to me during the summer- AURORA. The lyrics are well written and I especially adore the melody and rhythm of her music, a perfect balance of harmony and dissonance.
Excuse my lack of eloquence in these posts, as I am still adjusting to writing in this way again. The few snapshot in this post were collated from the first evening, after quite a tiring journey although far less strenuous than journey's to farther places like Australia. Arriving around six o'clock in the evening, we decided to browse the quiet suburb of Island Brygge within Copenhagen which was wonderful. The night sky was just coming in, as the sunset fell below the horizon and the colours were gorgeous- a blend of orange and red hues. The city itself was a delight, in the sense it was so clean and well respected.
My favourite aspect of the city would have to be the riverside, as there was a buzz of people surrounding it at night with their quiet picnics transitioning in to a louder scenery.
As for now, that was all for our first night as we passed by a few of the attraction sites that we would visit later on in our stay.
Ciao, Jess xx
