Street Style- Mixed Prints | 06.12.15

A couple of weeks back, I was lucky enough to meet up with a student studying at Worcester College for a little street style shot as I was planning on starting this new series on street style.

This little adventure seems rather daunting ( at the idea of not being judged for taking random photos), but hopefully will work out fine and enlighten quite a few people at the same time...

This wonderful outfit that Daniella picked out incorporates such a range of loud prints, which is definitely a bold fashion statement that I'd love to pull off. The blurred and rather hidden print of the dress are actually violins, which adds quite a nice unique little touch. Furthermore, the use of the elephant belt not only cinches in the waist nicely, but also adds to the quirky look that reminds me the retro prints such as 60s and 70s.
The modernised addition of the plain harsh black bowler hat contrasts nicely against the blurred mixed prints of the dress and coat. The hat adds a little masculinity to the very feminine dress, this is an addition to the sophistication and eccentric aspects of the outfit.
The day itself consisted of quite a storm, from the rush of getting to sixth form and then dashing off again to shoot this outfit before heading to a concert was well...quite a sprint I believe.
Not to mention that the city of Oxford was buzzing in itself from the bustling of undergraduate students all finishing their Michaelmas term that day. This, I was very jealous off, since I only just finished term this week so I can finely take a break from the frantic life of education.
The college in itself, Worcester College, was delightful to shoot at as it had the perfect setting to suit the outfit. The darkness of that day merged nicely in to the subdued sepia tones of the dress. This also suited the changing season as we delved further in to the depth of Winter.
Lastly, this boxy coat builds on the masculine side of the outfit (from the Bowler hat), however still combines the trends of winter- houndstooth print. The fact that the imprint is so huge makes the coat much more fun, bold due to the cool pixelated effect given off.
That's all from me. I hope you enjoyed this little post, which will (hopefully!) be the start to this new series of street style.

Ciao, Jess xx

Merry- so nearly- Christmas! I'm so excited so I won't even attempt to mask my enthusiasm. Have a fun one, and don't get too cray ( this is rich coming from me).
