On the penultimate day of staying at my friend Charlotte's in Germany, we decided it would be a nice idea to go on a cycle ride around the countryside...
It was such a lovely day, although the weather was blazing hot at around 36 degrees celsius, we still managed the whole ride with only a few stops to take photos ( of course!). We did however somehow manage to get lost on the way a little, as there were so many different paths we could have taken and barely any signs.
We went through a few villages and small towns including: Umkirch, Öpfingen, Gottenheim and Emmendingen. There were also a couple of others; which I can't quite remember because it has been almost a month now since I was there though it seems like yesterday. All the villages were surrounding the west side of Freiburg, part of the larger area Baden-Württemberg.

As we cycled back, we decided to stop off and have our picnic which was near our finishing stop but also had this stunning view. Once we finished enjoying our packed lunch, the heat had gotten to us a little so we thought it'd be a good idea to cool down and have some fun in the river.
The river is called the Dreisam River flows through the area of Baden- Württemberg and famously feeds through all the well know Bächle runnels within the city of Freiburg.
There were so many people around it when we took these photos, who were sunbathing in the gorgeous weather. Just remembering that day from writing this makes me miss Germany so much. I had such a fantastic time there with Charlotte and I can't wait to visit again!
Ciao, Jess xx
