Currently I've been loving the throwback to 90s trend, I think my obsession grew exponentially a few month ago when I had a DVD marathon of pretty much all the 90s films. This included: the infamous Mean Girls, Clueless, Freaky Friday and many others. I think Films and TV shows are great ways to gain inspiration for outfits when you're stuck as they often have great throwback trends ( although some are pretty odd). One of my favourites would have to be this look: a plaid shirt, velvet cami and denim shorts. This look incorporates so many different layers and dimensions, as well as featuring various materials of clothing which I think is pretty cool...

I absolutely adore how these photos came out, as it show cases the outfit well with the different pieces. I shot this outfit with my friend Ellen nearby a village in Oxford. I think that the soft materials like cotton and velvet mix together nicely with the harsher denim on the bottom half. I paired it with this cute leather satchel bag as it just added to the outfit and made it more casual. The flower crown was just a nice piece of accessory that I sort looked cool with the outfit, it's obviously not something I'd wear everyday although it'd be pretty cool if I was brave enough to.

Now it's summertime I weirdly feel as though I should have more free time to read books, watch films and draw or paint whilst listening to music. However these past 2 weeks have been super busy and I've found myself with quite a hectic schedule, although most of these things are down to my own accord. So I think for the next 2 week I want to give myself some time to chill out and relax. All I've planned so far is an interview for Waterstones and babysitting for a couple of families, so hopefully that won't be too much work. Saying that kids can be quite a nuisance but I still love doing it...well sometimes. Also the interview is stressing me out a little, but hopefully it'll be okay aha.
In the next couple of weeks I have a whole booklist I want to get through and some preparation for As to do. In my booklist are a variety of YA novels I want to read, just to relax and get back in to fiction books because I've had so little time this year so far to read any.
Currently I'm reading the series 'The summer I turned pretty' by Jenny Han, the novel is pretty simple and such a nice easy read. I think it'd be perfect for the beach, whilst soaking up some sun ( sadly I am not).
Hope you guys enjoyed the post!
